Paris, 23 July 2019 Lagardère Sports, a Lagardère Sports and Entertainment company, has today announced the strengthening of the partnership between Racing Club de Lens (RC Lens) and Waigéo, a digital applications development specialist – as RC Lens’ exclusive agency.

Waigéo is a company based in Bruay-la-Buissière and is specialised in the development of customised web and mobile applications for large private accounts. It created the MadeinArtois label in 2015 to promote local know-how. Waigéo was ranked among the top 50 companies in Nord-Pas de Calais in 2017 by “La Voix du Nord”.

Waigéo also publishes and markets two digital solutions for Smartcity communities: MyPerischool, allows families to manage their family file, register their children and pay for extracurricular activities from their smartphone or a family portal. This initiative removes the need for canteen tickets and ticket counter payments. MaVilleConnectée is a mobile application for cities which aims to bring their citizens and local services closer together. With this in mind, the project offers: citizen reporting, crowdfunding, e-reservation, text messages alert, e-administration, mapping points of interest, tourist routes, city centre trade promotion, amongst others.

Waigéo is an existing partner of the club and has decided to solidify its partnership further by becoming a supplier of RC Lens as well as leading the club’s digital development. As such, Waigéo branding will be displayed on LED screens at evening matches at Bollaert-Delelis as well as having access to private training at the “La Gaillette” training centre and seats at first team matches. In addition, the brand will be able to use the club’s image in its future communications (“Official Supplier of RC Lens”, logos, group images of players etc.)

Several activations have already been introduced. For example, RC Lens has called upon its supporters to vote on the new home shirt for 2019/2020 via the app and the Waigéo website. In addition, MyPerischool was the partner for the last home game of the season, offering 50 children from 3 neighbouring towns an unforgettable experience pitchside, with private access to one of the stadium lounges.
