Singapore, 23 October 2019 – Lagardère Sports announced that leading memory brand, KLEVV, has signed on to be the official gaming memory partner for global esports organisation, T1 Entertainment & Sports (T1). Under the terms of the sponsorship, KLEVV will have partner rights across all of T1’s competing categories, including League of Legends (LoL), Dota 2, PUBG, Fortnite, Hearthstone and Apex Legends until January 2021.

As the exclusive gaming PC memory sponsor, T1 will utilise KLEVV’s DDR4 gaming memory, SSD, microSD cards and USB products. T1 will also receive significant brand exposure and engagement opportunities with T1 esports fans across the region through KLEVV’s products. In addition, the KLEVV logo will be prominently displayed on T1’s jacket and jersey sleeve, as well as on T1’s website and all of its social media channels.

KLEVV, a brand under Essencore, the memory professional company wholly owned by the SK Group, has sponsored T1 since 2015. During their sponsorship, they have brought fans closer to their favourite esports stars, including setting up a fan engagement session with Faker and MaRin at Pax Prime in 2015, and again in 2018 G-Star with Faker and Wolf. In 2016, they brought fans closer to superstar Faker, with the ‘KLEVV Faker Show’, a YouTube programme that gave fans insights into one of the world’s greatest LoL players of all time. In 2017, they brought Faker and another LoL superstar Peanut together to front a home shopping show featuring KLEVV products.

Speaking of the deal, Jay Lee, Head of Marketing at KLEVV, said, “T1 is amongst the best performing teams across multiple platforms in esports, and is poised to become one of the most valuable brands in esports.  We’ve been supporting the team since 2015, and have seen a strong uptake in our brand amongst younger audiences due to the strength of our association. The opportunity for us to come on board as Official Gaming Memory Partner is one that we’re extremely passionate about, as we continue to support T1 in their rise in esports.”

“Over the past 18 months, we’ve seen a massive push from brands looking to get involved in the esports ecosystem. It’s natural for brands to want to work with the most valuable teams and brands, and T1 is undoubtedly in that category, combining high performance with a massive fan appeal. As an endemic brand, KLEVV’s association with T1 will provide them with a massive opportunity to really engage with gamers,” said Adrian Staiti, Managing Director, APAC of Lagardère Sports.

Founded in 2012, T1 is one of the most decorated teams in esports. The T1 League of Legends team is amongst the most successful teams in esports history and has won three World Championships (2013, 2015, 2016), as well as five other major titles, including the 2016 and 2017 LoL Mid-Season Invitationals. More recently, the team won their eighth League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Championship, and qualified for the LoL World Championship Quarter Finals.

“We’re excited to renew and extend our partnership with KLEVV through 2020. They’ve been great partners for T1 since 2015 and we’re excited to have them on board as we expand into new markets and grow our competitive gaming culture, content creation, entertainment, and merchandise around the globe,” said Joe Marsh, CEO of T1.
