Global Partnership Marketing Agency Managed Three-Day Youth Football Competition which Marked 100 Years of the DANONE Brand

Paris 14 October 2019 – Lagardère Plus supported DANONE in the organisation of its annual international “Danone Nations Cup” tournament, which took place from 10 to 12 October in Spain. This year, the ambassadors for the largest football tournament in the world for children aged 10 to 12 included Carles Puyol, Ada Hegerberg, Prof. Muhammad Yunus and Zinedine Zidane.

For 20 years, the world finals of the “Danone Nations Cup” have been played at legendary football stadiums around the world, bringing together more than 2 million players.

After a year of transition in 2018, this international competition returned this year to mark 100 years of the DANONE brand with a double edition from 10 to 12 October.

Lagardère Plus has supported the brand by managing the entire sporting side of the event (training, meeting schedule, refereeing, results management, technical management of the tournament, Fair Play evaluation, management of the competition staff, relationship with local and international football bodies etc.)

With 20 boys’ teams and 8 girls’ teams qualified for the 2018 and 2019 editions, a total of 56 groups took part over the three days of competition.

Nearly 200 games were played and more than 100 people supervised the three days of competition. This event was a unique opportunity for DANONE to convey its values of fair play, humanism, openness, closeness and enthusiasm.
