Paris, 2 December 2019 Lagardère Sports, a company of Lagardère Sports and Entertainment, is proud to announce the partnership between Rugby Europe and the Italian sports equipment manufacturer ERREÀ, now the official equipment supplier of the European governing body until 30 June 2023.

A historic brand specialising in team wear, ERREÀ has been active in rugby over many years with successful partnerships such as those with Wigan Warriors, Usap Perpignan, SUA Agen, Grenoble, Benetton Rugby, Zebre, Fed. Rugby XIII, Wales Rugby League and Jamaica Rugby League. Erreà is also the first sports equipment manufacturer of its size to receive Öko-Tex ecological certification. This label aims to guarantee the human-ecological qualities of textiles, i.e. clothing free from toxic products for the body and the environment.

For the next four years, ERREÀ will provide the kit for the 250 referees and match officials (commissioners, tournament directors etc.) during the 600 matches organised each season, as well as the coaches and trainers supervising the 500 training sessions held in the 48 member countries. ERREÀ will also offer its range of products to all fans and rugby players with the establishment of an online store.

The partnership will take effect from Saturday 1 February, on the first day of the Rugby Europe Championship 2020, with matches between Georgia and Romania, Russia and Spain as well as Portugal and Belgium. ERREÀ is thus joining Rugby Europe’s other partners Société Générale – Official Partner – and Rhino – official ball for European competitions.

Florent Marty, General Director of Rugby Europe: “We are delighted to partner with ERREÀ for the next four years. This historic European brand fits perfectly with Rugby Europe’s new marketing strategy and will bring its technical know-how and Italian elegance. We also thank Lagardère Sports France, which has been able to turn our expectations with equipment manufacturers into reality and showcase our project and our values.”

Enzo Montrucchio, General Director France at ERREÀ: “The partnership with Rugby Europe goes well beyond a simple supply or collaboration agreement. We want this to be a journey that we take together as part of the cooperation project. ERREÀ is a company of ideas and values and our most important intention and wish is to put in place programmes and objectives to develop and build together.”

Laurent Moretti, General Director France at Lagardère Sports: “With this partnership, Lagardère Sports has demonstrated its knowledge of brands and more specifically sports equipment manufacturers. By combining the needs and values of Rugby Europe with those of ERREÀ, we have created a partnership that meets the strategic challenges of both parties. We wish this partnership every success.”
