SINGAPORE, 25 September 2017 – Lagardère Sports today announced that it has renewed a long-term agreement with the Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) – the governing body of table tennis in Asia – to market the media rights of all ATTU events worldwide, excluding the host territory. The four-year partnership deal which will run from 2018 to 2021 will see Lagardère Sports distributing ATTU’s package of rights across multiple media platforms.

Under the terms of the agreement, Lagardère Sports will help to manage the distribution of the following events:

  • Asian Table Tennis Championships 2019 and 2021
  • Asian Cup 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021
  • Euro-Asia Challenge (Asian leg) 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021
  • 2019 Olympic Qualification Tournament being the Qualification Event for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo
  • 2018 Youth Olympic Games Qualification Event

To maximize the reach of these events, Lagardère Sports will be expanding ATTU’s digital footprint by providing live streaming and clips capabilities which will give fans greater access to the sport.

Lagardère Sports first started working with ATTU during the 2003 Asian Championships via the agency previously known as IEC in Sports. Since then, Lagardère Sports has taken Asian table tennis to a wider television audience via key broadcast partners such as CCTV-5, beIN SPORTS, TV Tokyo, HK Cable, Astro Malaysia, Truevision, and StarTimes Africa.
